To help raise money for the camp, three generations from the Knox family will be running from Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls to Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. The event will begin shortly after church on Sunday, September 4. The events at the camp will include a 5K run, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and a Kid's Fun Run (ages 10 & under). The 5K Cross Country Run on the beautiful Camp grounds begins at 3:30 p.m. and the Fun Run/Walk will start a few minutes later. Registration forms for the 5K and Fun Run/Walk are available below. Runners are also welcome to join the Knoxes for parts of the run! Contact Pastor Knox for more information about being one of their running partners.
The Knoxes plan to arrive at Camp at approximately 5 p.m. on September 5. You can be there to welcome them, celebrate the completion of the run, and enjoy a Labor Day picnic. The festivities will begin with the 5K Run at 3:30 p.m., the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 3:40 p.m., and the Kid's Fun Run at 4:15 p.m. The camp will be offering free hay rack rides, frisbee golf, bean bag toss, human foosball, hiking, and plenty of cool space under a shade tree to enjoy the last weekend of summer. The picnic supper will be served about 4:30 p.m.
