About the Camp

Mr. Luke Fischer

Luke has been associated with the camp since 1997 when his sister, who was serving as a counselor, convinced him to attend the camp for high school aged students. He quit his summer job and spent the next four weeks volunteering as a junior counselor and grounds keeper. Luke returned in 1998 and 1999 to help maintain the grounds and facilities. The summer of 2001 he served as a camp counselor. Luke earned his Associates degree at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. He worked at a lawn care and landscaping company until 2004 when he was hired to serve the camp as the full time Site Manager.

Luke lives on the camp with his wife, Kelly Haines Fischer, whom he met at camp, their three boys, Scott, Jordan, and Noah, as well as the family's chocolate lab. Luke and his family enjoy living at camp all the while enjoying God's wonderful creation. His family enjoys their time outdoors, reading books, making music, watching movies, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Luke loves working and living at the camp and looks forward to meeting with you and your family during your next visit.
